My husband and I live on a farm in the center of Kansas. It's a slow, sweet life, and we really cherish it. When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me listening to Fleetwood Mac on repeat, baking, daydreaming, gardening or going for a run. I’m a big fan of living simply and loving your people so big. The little things mean a lot to me. So do dogs, and plants, and quiet Sundays. If you love these things too, let’s be friends.
I’m so happy you’re here.
I have my dad to thank; it started with his camera, his encouragement and a roll of film back in 2002. And some of my favorite memories from growing up are going to the film lab with my grandpa. There was something so special about seeing what was captured when we picked up those envelopes. I think what I love so much about how they approached photography is how ordinary it was.
Just a simple camera, no fancy lenses or settings, capturing simple moments. I’m guilty of it myself, but I think sometimes with all we have today, we dismiss the ordinary. We want the perfect shot, the perfect lighting, the perfect setting; and that’s all great. Perfect images are a gift to have. But I think documenting the ordinary in an artful and intentional way is really, really beautiful.
My Favorite Records on repeat:
